Does it require premium email account to send mass emails say 500 emails?

I did try the free email of aol using my sender but the emails were not sent.

Yes it does. Free email accounts are limited. I pay for an email account and web site that allows 200 emails an hour. It is under $4 a month for a domain, web site, and email.
