Couple of thoughts…

What is your target market, by age, by income level, by hobby, life interests, (golf, guns, sports, nature etc) If you segment and define your ideal customer that will enable you to seek out the ideal list for you.

Mailings can be expensive, based on the quality of the material.

A one shot deal has extremely limited value, repeated mailings slowly build awareness among the junk mail clutter. They are however junk mail.

I think you would do better with a regular ad in the appropriate local newspaper or trade mag.

Point to your web site and make sure that your web site is worth looking at.

What is your value proposition? What is so good about what you do?

I ran about 6 different mail campaigns as a mktg mgr for IBM. Avg about 50,000 names. Cost was about $80,000 each. Business generated was ZERO. So I have no time for them.

Mailing lists can be expensive between purchasing and postage, it really adds up. You need a current up to date list which will be more expensive than cheaper lists but there will be less returned mail.
