I am looking for a work at home job/telecommute so I can stay home and work. I have tourettes and it is bothering people at work so I though if I work at home it would make life easier. But I keep looking online but you have to pay to subscribe to their lists. But isn’t that the number one thing you should not do is pay to get a list? Should be free not have to pay.

You are right to never pay to get a job. There are real jobs out there, you just got to know where to look. To start getting educated about work at home jobs you need to visit message boards and read, read, read. There is tons of information there that will help you avoid scams. There are several things you can do from home. Like at home customer care representative, transcription, writer, proofreader, editor, blogger, telemarketing from home, mystery shopping, virtual assistant, and freelance projects.

There are freelance opportunities available which are genuine, but u have to bid for them and compete with the wages and hourly rates. list of such opportunities can be found here: (for freelance outsourced jobs).

Also there are few home based transcription work, where in you get the data in images or audio form and u need to convert them back in text form and upload. list of such opportunities can be found here (for Transcription jobs) Here also you’d be competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so don’t expect huge wages for such jobs, but still it might be good enough to start with.

If you don’t want to put in much effort then there are some earning opportunities like receiving calls and uploading videos and some more freelance links you can try. Well no matter what you do you will have to take it up seriously and work hard initially to make good money from it.

have you considered college transcription? It can also be done, via the Internet, and it’s a LOT of fun. That’s what I do, I have tourettes, and I also do it in person.

The problem, it’s real time, so if you can’t type 70 words a minute to begin with, it’s hard to survive. I type some in person, some distance from my computer.

It works for me because in class, nobody notices my tics because they are watching the teacher, and I’m busy anyway, so I don’t tic as much.

For distance classes, my microphone is off, so nobody can hear me anyway!

And for subscribing, you shouldn’t have to pay to get info about real jobs.
