Have you begun working with a buyer’s agent? They’ll be able to show you all of the homes in your area that meet your needs, not just foreclosures (which are not automatically bargains). The best part is, their service is normally paid for by the seller which makes it free to you.
go to the local area of where you are in the market to buy the house and go inot the tax accessor office they have complied a list with the homes that are in foreclosuers are behind on there taxes and they will be auctioning them off, or go to a local real estate agent thaey also have all of this information and they can get you inot the home and show them to you.

You will still want a buyer’s agent even if you end up having to pay them something for their services because foreclosures are going to be “as is” sales and you really want someone with some knowledge. Also plan on paying for a home inspection–it will be worth it.
Look in the newspaper, they are advertised for a month before the auction on the courthouse steps.
call local banks and mortgage companies – that’s the only place you’ll get info for free. It takes a lot of time for someone to call banks and mortgage companies and assemble these “lists” – those people aren’t going to give away that info for free – would you?
