Not exactly sure what kind of virus this is, but my computer virus scan is not picking anything up. For a couple weeks now, my yahoo email account keeps sending out mass emails to all my contacts. They are for Viagra and similar products. Since the virus is not on my computer itself, I’m not sure how to get rid of it. Any ideas?

Contact Yahoo for this if it actually isn’t on your pc. It’s in THEIR best interest to correct this. Are you sure it isn’t on your pc? Chances are some of these contacts have an alternate e-mail for you if you do have one. Also, check the virus database at Symantec, McAfee, AVG. See if you can find something there.

It could just be that someone else is hacking your account. A similar thing happened with my FaceBook account (yeah, I know the security flaws), and it all stopped when I changed my password (you might want to change security questions as well). Also, check for spyware as well, since it can log info and send it to such an aforementioned hacker.

I use two programs to keep my computer safe (Avast! antivirus and Spybot Search & Destroy) and haven’t run into any problems for a loooooooooooooong time now.
